AUGUSTA – When the next state election rolls around, you might notice some extra words on campaign materials.
One legislator wants you to know for certain where clean election candidates get their campaign money.
representative Ricahrd Malaby, R-Hancock, stated “Right now, what people say is that they’re paid for by their clean election funds. Want to add a sentence or a phrase to that, that says, which is Maine taxpayer money.”
Malaby has never run for office as a clean election candidate.
He believes it’s important for people to know it’s tax payer money that’s funding the clean election candidates.
