AUGUSTA – Governor LePage will soon be making another trip to Washington D.C.
He hasn’t been a fan of the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument from the start . That’s why he plans to testify before a congressional committee that President Obama “overstepped” when he created the monument last summer.
LePage is also calling on President Trump to reverse the decision, claiming it will harm the local economy and will also hinder recreational uses and timber harvesting.
LePage said on WGAN Radio this morning he believes Obama misused the Antiquities Act when he designated the monument and he believes the state should have more of a say in the matter.
