OLD TOWN – Community members in Old Town spent Friday night getting their groove on, all to help out a great cause.
Old Town High School was filled with people “Boogying for Almighty Ashton.”
Ashton is a two year old boy in need of a kidney transplant, and the financial impact has taken a toll on his mom, Danielle.
The operation will take place in Boston and will require a 45 day stay in the city. Between trips to and from Boston, in addition to the long stay, money raised could not be more appreciated.
Organizer Amy McFalls-Smith said “It’s a lengthy process. There’s a lot of testing that goes into it to find the perfect match. And then it’s all about timing. His kidneys have to get to a certain failure point and the donor has to be ready all at the same time, so it’s the least we can do is get together and boogie and have a good time and raise some money in the process.”
A dinner will also be held on April 8th to raise money for Ashton. That will take place at the Spectacular Event Center, and people are encouraged to buy tickets to help out the cause.
