BANGOR – The extended winter weather hasn’t stopped local farmers from showcasing their goods through the season.
The Bangor Farmers Market wrapped up its winter season, hosting its final indoor market at Sea Dog Brewery Sunday.
Shoppers were once again able to speak directly with farmers and business owners about products ranging from fruits to cheeses to meats.
And that face-to-face interaction is exactly why these businesses wanted to continue the market even when its snowing.
Balfour Farms owner, Heather Donahue said “It’s definitely really important for us as farmers to be able to connect to the people eating our food. We do some wholesaling through small grocery stores as well, but we don’t have that connection that we have when we see our actual end customer.”
The outdoor farmers market season begins on April 30th.
