BANGOR – With spring weather finally returning to Maine, this weekend, a group here in Bangor took advantage of the sunny day.
With temperatures finally rising, the hikers in Maine will soon be out in full force.
For one Bangor group, Sunday was all about ensuring that the landscape looked as nice as possible.
Friends Of Lower Kenduskeag Stream, or FOLKS for short, held it’s spring cleanup of the Bangor waterway.
Coordinator Sean Gambrel stated “With a little elbow grease and a grant from Bangor GreenDrinks, FOLKS was able to upgrade the trails in a variety of ways, with new trashcans., benches and plenty of other maintenance.
He added “While it may not seem like manual labor would be the most attractive spring activity, this group has actually seen a growth in participation with local residents simply wanting to make their home a little better.”
