BELFAST – It’s a weekend that will be remembered around Belfast’s Police Department.
The department made national headlines Sunday after an officer responded to an unusual call. Officer Daniel Fitzpatrick was asked to check out a pair of baby goats that were spotted wandering the streets.
According to a report by ABC News, a woman found them munching on some cat food in her garage. The officer found them near the parking lot by the rail trail and took them for a ride in his cruiser while trying to find their owner.
According to the Belfast P.D., he fed them carrots and celery until the owner spotted a social media post and was reunited with the critters.
They joked on the departments Facebook page that all good things come to an end, perhaps in the next budget year they can inquire about getting some patrol goats.
