BREWER – Area veterans are helping Brewer Environmental Services protect the areas storm water.
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Inc. walked through the streets of Brewer to help educate residents about the dangers of storm drain run off.
Program leader Jeff Spaulding said this is the second year the group has assisted the city. He stated “Project healing waters helps disabled veterans and injured active duty members with their recovery through fly fishing and fly fishing activities.”
Kenneth Locke of the City of Brewer said the volunteers also placed door hangers and handed out brochures. “Trying to get the residents and the neighbors in these different neighborhoods to focus on not doing anything on their properties that will pollute storm water.” he added.
