HOLLIS – A Hollis man is behind bars after allegedly shooting his children with a BB gun.
Hollis Elementary officials said they alerted police that a nine and 11 year-old boys had been shot by their father.
James Pelletier, 46, claimed he shot them as a rite of passage in order to get their own BB guns, and to know what it feels like getting hit so they won’t shoot other people.
The boys told officials they were shot for not doing chores.
Pelletier was arrested and taken to York County Jail on charges felony endangering the welfare of a child and felony domestic violence reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.
He is being held without bail and is expected to see a judge on Monday.
