AUGUSTA – Just about every day in the State Capitol’s Hall of Flag’s a different group occupies the space, often in an effort to get their message to lawmakers.
Thursday morning The Maine State Chamber of Commerce filled the space for the 9th Annual Business Day. Bringing their message, the economy’s in pretty good shape, but there’s always room to grow.
Ben Gilman, Maine State Chamber of Commerce, said “Trying to find the workforce is always an issue, but especially this time of year. But also this year having a low unemployment rate. So finding qualified workers is always the number one issue we hear from businesses.”
Gilman said business day also provides the opportunity to meet on a one-to-one basis with legislators.
