BANGOR – It’s a chance to make wishes come true for children battling life threatening conditions.
The Make a Wish Foundation is gearing up for the Annual Walk for Wishes on the Bangor Waterfront.
The organization has done everything from sending kids to Disney World to buying new bikes, but they can’t do it without support.
People of all ages will be walking on the waterfront on Thursday, May 18th with a common goal of raising money to make life a little brighter for sick children and to let them know they aren’t alone.
Organizer Dr. Collette Sabbagh said “100 percent of the money goes to making those wishes happen. And the money will stay in the state for children for wishes here. In Maine, we grant a wish on average every 5 days.”
Doctor Sabbagh said it’s not a race, just a nice stroll along the waterfront that most anyone will enjoy.
She added the cost for an average wish is about $7,000 and they hope to raise a lot of money this year.
Again, it will be held on Thursday, May 18th.
