PALMYRA – With tick season upon us, folks gathered in Palmyra Wednesday for a “Tick Talk,” to learn about Lyme disease and better defend themselves against its blood-sucking carrier.
The Millennium Event Center played host to a speech and demonstration, given by medical professionals. And patrons were able to buy tick-repellent products from a Maine family who has fought their own battles with Lyme disease.
Kim Lovely said “We were trying to protect our own family, but we were seeing more and more people suffering from Lyme disease. So we decided that we were going to take our mess, if you want to call it that, and make it our mission.”
The meeting ran until 8:00 p.m., and all businesses involved are Maine-based.
