HUDSON – With Memorial Day around the corner, some people in Hudson are creating their own way of honoring those that served the country.
“Once they see this, it’s going to be amazing,” said Bill Grant, the co-chair of the Veterans Memorial, “It’s going to be a traffic stopper. It really is.”
To honor the men and women that serve in the armed forces. The town of Hudson is looking to raise money to build a Veteran’s Memorial. This will sit in the heart of the town with the name of all the branches of the military and the flag.
“We want to make one that’s profound and will stop traffic and notice it,” he said.
They are also creating a stone to recognize prisoners of war and those missing in action. It costs $30,000 to create the monument, which they are hoping to build by Veterans Day.
“It is very aggressive,” he said, “I am sure we can get it off the ground. The landscape may not be done, it may not be perfect. But it will be on the ground and people can see what it’s going to be.”
The project will cost $60,000 to finish.
