BANGOR– Details continue to surface in a short string of robberies along Stillwater Avenue.
Monday night, two people from Connecticut are behind bars.
29 year old Seth Blewitt and 30 year old Cara Blewitt of Oakville, Connecticut were arrested at around four o’clock Monday afternoon for robbing the TD Bank on Stillwater Avenue on Sunday.
Police recognized a vehicle on Harlow Street that matched the description of the one used in the bank robbery.
They performed a traffic stop and took both into custody.
Now, police say these are the same people responsible for another robbery that happened on Monday– this one at the Dollar Tree on Stillwater Avenue.
At around four o’clock, Bangor Police responded to the popular dollar store.
We are told Blewitt allegedly wore a ski mask and walked in brandishing a weapon.
He made off with an undisclosed amount of money.
“I believe there were two or three employees, and the suspect was a lone male. It’s very rare, it’s kind of an anomaly,” said Sgt. Brent Beaulieu with the Bangor Police.
The store remained closed after the incident so detectives could investigate.
Both are being held at the Penobscot County Jail.
The investigation continues Monday night, and anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Tim Shaw with the Bangor Police Department.
