ORONO – The third annual Black Bear Marathon took place this morning at the University of Maine.
The UMaine Alumni Association hosted the marathon, half marathon and 10K event.
The path led runners along the river through Orono and Old Town before ending back at the UMaine football stadium track. Over 550 runners signed up to participate.
“Racers have come from all over the country, we have some from Canada as well. I think we have 25 states represented this year and a lot of local folks,” said Race Director Lauri Sidelko.
Evan Graves, the first place marathon finisher, finished the course in just over two and a half hours.
