AUGUSTA – Former Department of Health and Human Services Commissioner Mary Mayhew has announced she will run for governor of the state of Maine.
Mayhew made the announcement Tuesday morning on WVOM radio.
She plans on meeting with the media around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday morning at a news conference in Lisbon.
Mayhew joins a crowded field to replace Governor Paul LePage.
She stepped down from her role at the Department of Health and Human Services last month.
