AUGUSTA -Promising news from Augusta today for restaurant workers.
The Maine Senate voted 23-to-12 this morning to restore the tip credit for people who depend on tips to make a living.
It was removed when Maine residents voted in November to raise the minimum wage, sparking an outcry from tipped workers around the state.
The measure now heads for the House for consideration before returning to the Senate.
It will need to win two thirds majority approval in order to proceed.
