BREWER – The City of Brewer is looking at ways to to make downtown more walkable, safer and active.
A group of folks spent the day in a workshop that took them from a training session to walking the Brewer Riverwalk trail checking out various spots along the way. They were looking at things like safety, lighting and even the placement of garbage cans.
City planner Linda Johns said “We are very happy with the way this trail has worked out but we want to do better. We want to have it safer. We want to have more people come down.”
The people who took part in today’s workshop will make recommendations. Those recommendations will be used as part of a community action plan .
