SOUTHBOUND I-95 – A man escaped from a burning car with just minor cuts and bruises after a crash Wednesday evening.
Officials said just before 6 p.m. a 31-year-old man from Lincoln was driving on south on I-95 when he crashed his car into a guardrail. The car burst into flames, but and the driver was able to make it out just in time.
Maine State Police Trooper Benjamin Campbell said “He didn’t remember much besides hitting the guardrail, driving into the median, he went up about another 150 feet. And the he saw some flames so he exited.”
The car is totaled and had to be towed from the scene.
Trooper Campbell reminds people to drive carefully and said to pull over if feeling tired or drowsy.
