SQUARE LAKE – The Maine Warden Service has recovered the body of a man who drowned in Square Lake.
One of 4 people who were tossed into the water last week after foul weather caused their fishing boat to capsize.
The warden dive team returned to the lake early this morning and used side scan radar to locate the remains of Eric Sherwood. He was found in about 50 feet of water.
They’re still looking for the remains of Mark Chambers who also vanished on June 13.
Charles Guimond, 23, of Fort Fairfield was the only man wearing a life jacket and was the only person who survived.
The body of Martin Chambers, 56, was found the day after the accident and wardens have been searching for the other two ever since.
The search has been called off because of today’s bad weather, but will resume tomorrow.
To date, 1000 acres of the lake bottom has been searched.
