GOULDSBORO – A standoff with the state police tactical team ended as well as it could Tuesday evening.
Around 4:00 PM, police responded to 231 Main Street shortly after Allen Walton, 32, and already wanted on other charges, barricaded himself in the house.
“At one point it was believed he was armed,” said Gouldsboro Police Chief Tyler Dunbar. “There were shots fired by the tactical team, which was on the perimeter, and they were requested as well.”
Walton was then taken into custody with neither himself nor police suffering injuries.
In addition to his outstanding charges, Walton will be facing charges of causing a standoff, terrorizing, and criminal threatening.
The incident continues to be investigated by the Maine State Police.
