ELLIOTSVILLE TOWNSHIP – A second injured hiker is rescued by responders in just two days.
The rescue happened Thursday on Borestone Mountain in Elliotsville Township.
Rescuers said Paulina Pope, 44, of South Berwick was hiking with a friend and their children when she fell on a steep part of the trail and broke her leg.
The Maine Warden Service received the call just before 2 p.m. Thursday.
Multiple rescue groups responded to help Pope. She was taken to Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft for treatment.
The day before another injured hiker had to be rescued from the Appalachian Trail east of Greenville after breaking his leg.
