BANGOR – With summer under way people are taking advantage of the sun and staying out longer. Many are also taking to the Maine woods to enjoy time with nature .
But before you head out, Maine’s Emergency Management Agency wants you to plan ahead to be safe while camping with family and friends.
MEMA spokesperson Susan Faloon stopped by the studio this morning. She spoke about being prepared before hitting the Maine woods. “Have a kit for everything right, have a kit to plan, make sure you have a map and compass, because if you do get lost you want to make sure you’re going in the right direction. Make sure you have enough food. Make sure you have enough water.” said faloon.
It’s also a great idea to let someone know where you’re going and when you plan to return. And don’t forget those flashlights.
