WASHINGTON D.C. – Thursday morning senate republicans unveiled their latest push to repeal and replace Obamacare.
But Maine senators aren’t convinced this plan is the answer.
The plan includes some major changes including an amendment that would allow insurers that currently offer Obamacare to offer barebones policies. It also includes new funding for opioid treatment.
Senator Angus King released a statement that said his bill is no more encouraging than the last. He expressed concerns over medicaid cuts and lack of opioid funding.
Senator Susan Collins took to her twitter account saying quote “Still deep cuts to medicaid in senate bill. Will vote no on MTP. Ready to work with GOP & democratic colleagues to fix flaws in ACA.”
The bill will need 50 votes to pass.
