WADE – A teenage boy is alive thanks to the quick action and bravery of a Wade man.
It happened just after 8 a.m. Sunday morning. A 16 year old boy from Washburn was speeding down the New Dunntown Road in Wade when he lost control and slammed into a tree.
Damian Languell heard the crash from his home and ran outside to see the car in flames. He cut the young man out of the vehicle and called for help before the car fully caught fire.
The teenager was taken to the Aroostook Medical Center and later transported via LifeFlight to a larger hospital.
His injuries are severe, and the crash remains under investigation.
