DOVER-FOXCROFT – The number one cause of murder in the State of Maine is domestic violence.
In the last few weeks the state has been rocked with a number of cases.
If you’ve ever wondered if there’s anything you can do to help stop domestic abuse, the folks at “Partners for Peace” have something you should check out.
Partners for Peace will be holding training sessions next month at their Dover-Foxcroft offices.
Organizer Casey Faulkingham said “Volunteering for our organization is definitely a great start. We work with anyone who’s been affected by domestic abuse and violence. We provide a variety of support services that volunteers can engage in.”
Partners for Peace is a new name for a recent partnership between two long-time domestic abuse victim advocate organizations. Those groups were known as Spruce Run and Womencare Alliance.
