BANGOR – It was a party at Chapin Park Tuesday night as people from all over Bangor gathered for the “23rd Annual Block Party.”
The event began in 1994 when the Bangor Band had to move their concert because of the Bangor State Fair.
Since then, it’s become a tradition to move the concert to Chapin Park the week of the fair.
Each year it’s grown, giving several businesses in the area a chance to give back to the community.
Organizer Billy Miller “The Sam’s Club is generous and passes out hotdogs, the Orrington Church passes out hotdogs, Frank’s Bakery passes out ice cream………”
The party also featured the Anah Shrine Clowns, face painting, hula hoops, and the Salvation Army.
And of course, a special performance by the Bangor Band.
