SKOWHEGAN – A Skowhegan woman is facing child endangerment charges after being found unconscious in her home.
Police said they went to an apartment on the Waterville Road around 12:30 a.m. Sunday after someone complained about a loud radio.
Police decided to look through a window when no one answered the door and that’s when they spotted Stephanie Freeman, 28 laying on a floor with an infant that wasn’t wearing any clothing. They also spotted empty beer cans, empty prescription bottles and filthy conditions.
According to the “Morning Sentinel,” they climbed through a window to try to wake Freeman, but an ambulance had to be called because of her level of intoxication.
Police said there was also no electricity in the home or food to eat.
The child was placed in the custody of a family member and Freeman was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
