HERMON – You may know Texas Roadhouse for it’s steaks or rolls and butter but they have been supporting veterans for years.
From Augusta to Hermon, motorcyclists road in the 14th Annual Bike Run to benefit “Homes for Our Troops,” an organization that helps injured veterans by building homes specially adapted to suit their needs.
“Being a veteran myself, it’s very important to me,” said James Malone, the owner of Texas Roadhouse in Bangor, “I’ve worked with these guys for several years down in Massachusetts helping with the building of the houses and it’s a great big family just like the military is.”
This ride is just one of many going on nationwide. Texas Roadhouse is expecting roughly 8,000 participants and hoping to raise $300,000 dollars through this event.
