BLUE HILL – The new location of Bagaduce Music Lending Library is getting beautified thanks to a new organization.
The Native Gardens of Blue Hill is creating a public garden filled with Maine native plants on the library’s premises. Gardeners said it’s important to use these type of plants because it’s genetically connected to the environment.
Co-founder Cathy Reese stated “We really believe that our native flora has a lot to offer people and I feel like the time is right. We’ve seen the local food movement and how that’s grown. We feel that the local plant movement can be next.”
This project has been in the works for three seasons.
While they have received a lot of generous donations of plants and equipment, they are in need of donations to purchase from local gardeners in the area.
