HAMPDEN – Maine State Police are searching for someone who drove off after leaving a trail of debris on both sides of I-95 Sunday afternoon.
Troopers responded to calls just after 4:30 p.m. about a crash in the northbound lanes near mile marker 181.
They learned more as they arrived on scene.
Maine State Police Sgt. David Millett said “We learned that there was a black vehicle that cut another vehicle off, causing that vehicle to slam into a third vehicle.”
And the black car lost control and went into the median, and at some point drove up into the southbound lane where they caused another rear-end collision.
The two drivers impacted by the other vehicle cutting them off had non-life-threatening injuries.
Sergeant Millett said troopers do have a license plate number from the black car.
Traffic headed north on I-95 was delayed as crews tended to the injuries and removed the cars from the middle of the roadway.
