AUGUSTA – Two of the men accused in the beating death of an Augusta man have pleaded guilty.
Damik Davis, 27, of New York and Michael McQuade, 47, were charged with felony murder and robbery after killing Joseph Marceau, 31, in 2015.
The Maine State Attorney Generals Office outlined their case against the pair, saying police were called to a Washington Street apartment to investigate a disturbance. They stated two of the suspects fled and they discovered Marceau’s battered body in a bedroom. He had been bound by his feet and hands.
Authorities later learned the three suspects had planned to rob Marceau of his drug stash.
McQuade and Davis signed plea agreements to cooperate with the prosecution in the case against a third suspect .
Aubrey Armstrong, 28, of New York is also charged with killing Marceau.
A fourth suspect, Zina Marie Fritze hanged herself in the Kennebec County Jail after being indicted.
