SHERMAN – Two men were arrested following a high speed chase in Sherman reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.
Maine State Police said the driver Nathan Love, 24, from Minot and his passenger Nathaniel Bourget, 25, from Millinocket were taken into custody last night.
Just before 7 p.m. a trooper clocked Love’s car going 115 miles per hour on I-95 north, but when the trooper tried pulling him over Love didn’t stop.
The chase continued at speeds well over 100 miles per hour until Love exited in Island Falls. He then turned onto Route 159 and lost control of the vehicle and crashed on a sharp turn.
Love was charged with criminal speeding, failure to stop for law enforcement, operating without a license and operating under the influence.
His passenger, Bourget was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear on an assault charge and was charged with violating the conditions of his release.
Both were taken to the Aroostook County Jail and no one was hurt.
