DEXTER – The town of Dexter is looking to revitalize its downtown area.
Part of that will include new sidewalks and street lights being installed.
They are combining it with a larger construction project being done by the Maine Department of Transportation.
Dexter Town Manager Jim Chandler said, “There’s a certain amount of character that we want to preserve with the downtown but no pun intended curb appeal is important for attracting any new real estate ventures and we definitely have an interest in gaining some business interests and getting some new businesses in the downtown.”
Chandler said it’s been several decades says any improvements have been made.
He said the work will make the area much safer and nicer for people to visit as well as being a part of economic development.
