PITTSFIELD – Friday, police gave a sad update to a mysterious story out of Pittsfield.
It was back in March when the body of a woman was found in the trunk of a car that was brought to a local dealership.
At the time, police weren’t sure what happened to the 30-year-old woman, but they announced Friday she died as a result of a drug overdose. They also believe it was intentional, as a way to commit suicide.
The vehicle was found at the Walmart in Palmyra and was towed to a dealership in Pittsfield because the woman’s family couldn’t get the car open.
Officials believe the woman crawled into the trunk from the passenger compartment and then righted the rear seat.
A bottle of pills and an iced coffee were found next to her body.
