BANGOR – The Maine State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a house fire that happened in Bangor Sunday night.
Crews were called a home on Grove Street around 11:30 p.m.
The assistant chief says a family was home at the time the fire broke out, but was able to make it out safely thanks to working smoke detectors.
Heavy fire was showing from the third floor when crews arrived on scene.
“Most of the damage is all on the third floor where the fire started,” said Assistant Chief Anthony Riitano of the Bangor Fire Department. “Just need to do some work on the third floor, some work on the roof and they’ll be back in.”
Fire officials were at the home on Monday morning trying to find the cause of the fire.
