PORTLAND – A national airline company is helping out men and women in blue who are heading to Maine for the memorial of a fallen brother.
JetBlue, which flies out of Portland, is offering free flights to law enforcement nationwide who are sending representative to the memorial service for Cpl. Eugene Cole, who died in the line of duty last Wednesday.
The memorial for the12-year veteran of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office starts at noon Monday at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
The airline has a long history of supporting public service professionals in the communities where JetBlue crewmembers live and work, a company spokesman said Thursday in a statement.
Law enforcement officials can call 1-800-JETBLUE to find out more about the guidelines for the Fallen Public Service Professional Accommodation.
Visiting hours are 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Skowhegan Armory, located at 11 North School Street.
