BANGOR – A happy reunion took place at Eastern Maine Medical Center Sunday when former patients of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit got to meet the medical staff that helped them thrive.
The kids and their families celebrated with a circus-themed reunion featuring games, snacks and plenty of balloons.
The reunion was put on by families that have used EMMC’s neonatal care.
Amber Reynolds, whose twins were in the intensive care unit for about 80 days, said she credits the doctors for her kids’ healthy childhoods.
“I’m really thankful to be here and to be able to come back and see everyone again. They became part of the family,” she said.
Those who attended the event also donated toiletries for families currently in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit.
