AMHERST – The Airline TrALE Run 5K, 10K, and marathon took runners on a loop from the Airline Brewing Company to the Amherst Mountains Community Forest.
The brewery collaborated with Sarah’s House in Holden to put on Sunday morning’s race. Runners got a free beer after crossing the finish line.
But the real reason for the run was to raise money for Sarah’s House in Holden.
Sarah’s House gives patients and families a place to stay when in the area for cancer treatment. It was started by Sarah Robinson before she died of cancer herself in 2011.
Sarah’s daughter, Morgan Robinson, participated in the run.
“It’s just really special to me to know that everybody is putting in a lot of effort to raise money for something that’s really special to us,” said Morgan Robinson.
One of Airline Brewing Company’s owners said they hoped to double what they raised at last year’s event.
Last year they brought in about $1,500 for Sarah’s House.
