BANGOR – It would be hard to find anyone whose life hasn’t been touched by cancer in some way.
Far too many of our friends and families members have battled the disease but now there’s a way even our furry friends can help. They’re getting ready for the 7th annual Bark for Life fundraiser in Bangor.
People and their dogs will spend the next few weeks raising money for the American Cancer Society before gathering for a celebration and walk at Bass Park.
“This is a small mini relay for two hours down at the horse track. We’re going to have an event with mini walks and your dog is welcome to participate,” Bark for Life organizer Sarah Smith said.
Along with the walk, there will be music and entertainment and lots of games and contests for dogs — including a super hero-themed contest this year.
The event will take place from 4-6 pm. on Saturday, June 2. For more information, visit the Greater Bangor Bark for Life’s Facebook page.
