BANGOR – On Thursday morning, customer traffic at Chapel Hill Floral was as steady as tulips blooming on a sunny spring day.
“We’re very busy. Orders started coming in last week. So, we’ve been doing prepping of those orders. Some of them we can do in advance. We started delivering orders on Wednesday,” Rick Frye, co-owner of Chapel Hill Floral, said Thursday.
While the flower shop offers a wide variety of options for the gift giver, this year arrangements in glass vases seem to the most popular.
“That gives our designer the opportunity to be really creative and do their thing with the flowers we have on hand,” Frye said.
Is there a special flower that stands stem and petals above the others?
“So many people just say, use your freshest and most beautiful flowers and create for us,” Frye said.
Since not every florist will be open on Sunday, Frye recommends that those who do want to honor their mothers with flower get their orders in early.
“My wife has chosen to close so we can spend some time and have our designers spend some time with our family members and mothers,” Frye said.
No matter what gift you get for your mother, even if it’s just doing some chores around the house for her, such as painting the kitchen walls, don’t forget mom on Sunday.
