BANGOR – A probation check in Bangor ended with one man behind bars on Thursday.
Two Bangor Police Officers went to the home of 36-year-old Kareen Barker on Crestmont Road Thursday afternoon for a probation check.
Police say Barker initially cooperated, but when police began searching his bedroom, his attitude changed and he tried to run.
Officers eventually were able to gain control of Barker and handcuff him.
Once the search was completed, police found fifteen grams of crack cocaine, 24 grams of suspected heroin, two grams of methamphetamine and more than $1,800 in suspected drug proceeds.
The drugs have a street value of about $6,500.
Barker now faces a number of charges, including two counts of aggravated trafficking and illegal possession.
He is currently being held at the Penobscot County Jail.
