Bangor – A group of local 4- and 5-year-olds wanted to spread a little love and decided to give their hearts to Eastern Maine Medical Center.
The hearts were painted around Valentine’s Day by pre-schoolers from Veazie Community School and were given to the hospital, which posted them up on a third floor bridge-way.
“The teacher of the pre-k class contacted us and wanted to donate some artwork to make the hospital a little more cheerful,” said Ali Worster, vice president of human resources for EMMC.
The Veazie teacher said she wanted to spread the love instead of just sending the artwork home in a backpack. Hospital staff expressed interest in other student art donations.
