Retail sales rose point eight percent last month – the largest increase since november. The commerce department says it s a sign consumers are feeling confident about the economy. But they warn high gas prices and inflation may keep us from maintaining this level of spending.

The online crafts company says it s increasing transaction fees to 5 percent beginning july 16th. Etsy has 2 million active sellers and nearly 35 million active buyers.
Microsoft says it s working on technology that could help retailers compete with amazon’s new cashier-less stores. The technology would collect data from cameras or sensors allowing you to check out easier. Amazon opened its first cashier-less store in seattle this year and plans more locations across the u.s.
And finally if you’re hailing uber or lyft you can now have more piece of mind with a new app called “ride safe”. It allows you to buy insurance that will cover you in the event that you get injured during your ride. It links to your account. For $2.40 you get 24 hours of coverage of unlimited rides.
