BANGOR – The Penobscot County grand jury handed up its list of indictments on Wednesday.
Among those indicted was 26-year-old Charles Gardner of Howland, who was charged with eluding an officer and driving to endanger.
Authorities said Gardner drove his motorcycle erratically and refused to stop for police last September. He was injured when he crashed on Stillwater Avenue in Old Town. Police said that Gardner did not have a motorcycle license and was on probation.
Jonathan Gutierrez-Gomez, 20, of New York was indicted for robbery, criminal threatening and assault. Police said he pressed a BB gun into the neck of a cab driver over an $8 dollar fare in November.
Kayla Whittemore 27, of Hermon was indicted on two counts of unlawful trafficking of drugs. She is accused of selling drugs to someone who fatally overdosed.
Damian Ouellette, 25, of Levant was indicted for aggravated assault.
Ouellette allegedly attacked his wife in November after she confronted him about another woman. According to police, he strangled her to the point she could no longer breathe.
Ouellette also pled guilty in federal court to being a felon in possession of a firearm on Wednesday.
That charge stemmed from the same incident. Ouellette could face up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for the firearm possession charge.
