BANGOR – A Bangor woman is celebrated her 100th birthday Saturday.
Kay Mitchell has six children and many grandkids and great-grandkids.
Most of them were there to celebrate with her, but those who couldn’t called in.
Mitchell has had a series of health issues, but continues to live by the motto “leave it in God’s hands.”
Kay’s daughter Diane Merrill said, “We didn’t expect that she was going to live past the age of 48. She conquered that and conquered many times the kiss of death, call it what you want, and come back with resilience and she’s very content. She wants to live forever.”
Her daughter also added that she loves meeting people and welcomes visitors at Ross Manor.
