DOVER-FOXCROFT – Supporters of the Piscataquis Regional Food Center are holding their first winter carnival.
The center was created to help fight hunger in the Piscataquis County area.
The center aims to provide affordable infrastructure and services to people in need. The winter carnival is being held to help support the work that people connected to the center are doing in the county. The goal is to raise $6,000.
“We like to have fun in the winter. We thought it would be great to have a family focused event, with lost of games and activities for kids,” said Erin Callaway, the food center’s executive director.
Volunteers helped by painting winter-themed decor for the event.
The winter carnival is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Piscataquis Valley Fairgrounds. Admission is free.
