SEARSPORT – Firefighters from Searsport spent Wednesday afternoon battling a house fire on Pomeroy Lane.
Officials say the home was fully involved when they arrived on scene.
Searsport Fire Chief Andrew Webster says one firefighter fell through ice trying to get water, but was not injured.
Authorities say getting water to the scene was one of many challenges.
“A lot of challenges today, the cold weather was one of them,” said Chief Webster. “Narrow driveways, ice and as far as the fire goes, it is two old trailers put together then build around it. So it’s been pretty challenging.”
Officials said an excavator had been called in to put out hot spots.
No injuries have been reported and the fire is still under investigation.
