BANGOR – The city’s Infrastructure Committee accepted a $376,000 grant Tuesday night from the Maine Department of Transportation.
City Engineer John Theriault said the grant will be used to build a new sidewalk along part of Hogan Road. The city will contribute $75,000 in local funds to the project.
“Hogan Road is a really busy road. There’s a lot of businesses along it. There’s some schools along it. If we can provide a sidewalk, I think it’s a great thing in that corridor,” Theriault said.
Theriault said city officials hope the sidewalk will be done in the next few years.
