PRESQUE ISLE – A United Airlines plane that crashed in Presque Isle earlier this month missed the runway altogether, according to a preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board.
The report said the pilot of the plane carrying 26 passengers landed between the runway and a taxiway at Presque Isle International Airport.
Initial reports had the plane sliding off the runway after landing.
According to the report, which is available on the NTSB website, three people, including the pilot, suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Light to moderate snow was falling in Presque Isle on the morning of March 4, when the crash happened.
