STATEWIDE – Veteran Maine Warden Service Investigator Josh Bubier has been named the 2018 Game Warden of the Year.
Bubier of Greenville was presented the award at Wednesday night’s annual Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife awards dinner.
While Bubier was praised for his overall work ethic, his role last April in the apprehension of the accused killer of Somerset County sheriff’s Cpl. Eugene Cole were highlighted.
Others receiving recognition for their contribution to the same manhunt included Warden Jeremy Judd of Mechanic Falls and Warden Kris MacCabe of Wilton.
Among those receiving meritorious awards was Lt. Dan Scott of Hampden, who was praised for his role in apprehending a car thief in Bangor last december.
Wardens Will Shuman of St. Albans and Chad Robertson of Pittsfield were honored for what were called outstanding efforts.
